Yes, as long as you are a UK resident and registered with a GP (excluding the Isle of Man and Channel Islands), you can access our services. Alternaleaf is a fully online clinic, with all appointments conducted through private video or phone consultations allowing you to speak with our clinicians from the comfort of your home. If you are deemed eligible for prescribed plant-based medicine, your medication will be delivered to your doorstep.
We are a leading UK-based online clinic specializing in plant-based medicine, connecting patients with highly qualified clinicians who have advanced training in alternative treatments for chronic conditions. These include, but are not limited to, chronic back pain, anxiety, insomnia, chemotherapy-related nausea and vomiting, epilepsy, mental health disorders, and spasticity associated with multiple sclerosis. Our experienced clinicians carefully assess each patient’s suitability for alternative therapies, while our dedicated Patient Support Team ensures you receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care throughout your journey. Please note that you must be 18 years or older to book a consultation. UK regulations require patients under 18 to be treated with the involvement of pediatric specialists, a service we do not currently provide. £29 for your first consultation and doctor’s appointment. This allows us to review your medical history and create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Follow-Up Consultation
£29 for a follow-up appointment, usually scheduled 3–4 weeks after your initial consultation. During this session, you’ll review your progress, discuss any necessary adjustments to your treatment, and arrange repeat prescriptions if needed.

Review Appointment
£29 for ongoing review appointments every 6 months. These sessions focus on monitoring your progress, making any required changes to your treatment, and managing repeat prescriptions.

Please note that medication costs are not included.

Membership Option
We also offer a membership plan for just £5 per month, which covers the cost of all the appointments listed above.

We understand situations may change, however the consultation fee will be charged if you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment.

After completing the 30-second pre-screening form, you’ll be invited to book an appointment with an Dr Green London clinician.

During this 20-minute consultation, you’ll be asked about your medical history, current symptoms, and any previous experience with plant-based treatments. You’ll also have the chance to ask any questions you may have.

Following this, you’ll be scheduled for an appointment with an Alternaleaf doctor. Our doctors are experienced consultants with over 10 years of expertise. They will review the notes from your initial consultation and, if appropriate, recommend a personalised treatment plan and issue a prescription for plant-based medicine.

Our online process takes less than 5 minutes to complete, and you can receive an instant booking with one of our clinicians.

To confirm your appointment, you’ll also need to complete our online medical history questionnaire, which will be sent to you right away. Completing this form is required to secure and hold your appointment slot.

We provide consultations exclusively through private video or phone appointments with our specialist clinicians. This means there’s no need to travel or take time off work your appointment can be completed from the comfort of your chosen location, at a time that suits you best.

No referral from your GP or doctor is required. Simply complete our 30-second pre-screening form to check your eligibility for prescribed plant-based medicine, and then proceed to book your appointment.

You must be 18 years or older to book a consultation. UK regulations require patients under 18 years old to have children's specialist involvement, which we currently do not offer. If you are seeking treatment for your child, we recommend you speak to your regular GP first.

We accept screenshots from the NHS app; however, to confirm your eligibility, we require a copy of your Summary Care Record (SCR). Without this information, we are unable to proceed with issuing your first prescription.

Yes you can, many patients use recreational plant medicine for pain relief or other symptoms and wish to access a medical-grade product safely and reliably, without the risk of legal repercussions. Our clinicians will provide you with a tailored treatment recommendation.

No you won't be charged if your doctor decides that plant medicine isn't right for you.

Legalities & Confidentiality

Yes. We're a fully licensed UK clinic offering you the best possible care. We're also regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Regardless of the medication you are taking, you should never drive or operate a vehicle while impaired. As effects can vary from person to person, it’s important to discuss any potential impairment with your specialist doctor. We also advise avoiding the use of heavy machinery or performing tasks requiring fine motor skills while using plant-based medicine. Side effects As with all prescribed medicines, side effects may occur. The most common side effects will be discussed during your consultation(s). If you experience any side effects that were not explained or that concern you, please report them to us by completing our contact form or calling +44 1283 244 025. For urgent medical assistance, please contact 111 or follow the appropriate emergency guidance.

Yes. Plant-based medicine was legalised on 1st November 2018, allowing it to be prescribed in the UK as a controlled medicine. It must be prescribed and supervised by a specialist registered with the General Medical Council and is only available for patients with specific medical conditions. Alternaleaf operates in full compliance with these requirements.

This depends on your workplace policies. In principle, prescribed plant-based medicine should be treated like any other medication; however, some employers may have specific rules regarding its use. Before starting treatment, it’s important to check that your workplace does not explicitly prohibit its use, as you may not have grounds for appeal if you breach their policies. You should also avoid driving or operating heavy machinery or equipment if you feel impaired.

Each of them has experience in prescribing plant-based medicine for a range of conditions, including pain management, mental health concerns, sleep disorders, neurological conditions, pharmacy-related care, and holistic health.

You'll be prescribed 1 month's supply. After your follow up appointment, you'll order a repeat prescription after 21 days. This is to prevent any gaps in treatment.

Repeat prescriptions are ordered every month in between your review appointments, which will happen every 6 months.

Our Alternaleaf clinicians are experienced in treating patients with plant-based medicine and will recommend the appropriate brand and formulation following a thorough medical assessment. With access to a wide range of options, your clinician will create a personalised treatment plan based on your individual needs, and will regularly review and adjust your medication where necessary.

Dr Green London partners with specialist independent UK pharmacies to fill and supply your prescriptions.

Your prescribed treatment may be supplied in specific forms, such as oils or dried products, with clear dosing instructions to help ensure safe and consistent effects. Changing the format or way it is used can alter how your body absorbs it and the overall strength of its effects.

It’s important to always take your medication exactly as prescribed. If you are considering a different format or method of use, please speak with your pharmacist or doctor first so they can provide the appropriate advice.

Yes, our partner pharmacies provide delivery throughout the UK.

Once your medication has been dispensed, you will be sent tracking details. If you haven’t received them, please get in touch with the pharmacy for further assistance.

We work closely with our partner pharmacies to ensure your medication is delivered to you as quickly as possible.

If any delays are expected, our Patient Support Team will keep you informed and provide updates or solutions. Delays may occasionally occur depending on approvals or payment processing. Together with our partner pharmacies, we are committed to ensuring your medication reaches you safely and as promptly as possible.

New Pricing

You can either pay £29 for each appointment as you go, or join our membership, which is £5 a month, covers the cost of all your required appointments, and could save you over £85 a year. You’ll only be charged if you qualify.
Every patient is different, so treatment costs can vary. Our experts will recommend a plan based on your individual needs and budget.
For only £5/month, you can now spread the cost of your required appointments, while still accessing the same high level quality service our patients expect. Prefer to pay per appointment? No problem, we will still be offering pay-as-you-go style appointments at £29 per consultation. All aspects of your patient journey will remain the same beyond pricing, whichever scheme you opt for. ‍

Absolutely! If you’re already a patient with us, switching to our membership is quick and easy. Simply visit app.alternaleaf.co.uk/membership to sign up via Direct Debit.

You can settle any missed payments through the patient portal. Simply log in, go to ‘Membership’, select ‘Manage Subscription’, and click the ‘Pay Now’ option. Please ensure this is completed within 72 hours of the failed payment. If it isn’t paid within this time, you may be unable to purchase medication, which could interrupt your treatment.

The initial consultation, along with all required appointments throughout the year, are included in the membership. Any additional appointments that are not clinically required will be charged separately at £29 each.

Transfer clinic

If you’ve already been approved by another clinic, it’s a strong indication that you may also be eligible with us. To transfer, simply complete our eligibility questionnaire. After answering a few quick questions, you’ll be able to book your first appointment with Alternaleaf.

Yes, we require a copy of your medical evidence in the form of a recently dated Summary Care Record (SCR), issued within the last six months.

You may be able to request this from your current clinic or directly from your GP reception team, along with any previously submitted medical documentation.

We recommend requesting a discharge letter from your current clinic once you have been approved for treatment during your Alternaleaf appointment. Please note that we are unable to issue your first prescription until we have received this discharge letter.

No. Under current regulations, patients can only receive plant-based treatment through a single clinic at any one time.
